Access to Bodenalm, Brandberg
The Environmental Ombudsoffice assumes that it would be possible to continue farming the Bodenalm with Galt cattle, terrain-adapted cattle breeds or sheep even without the access road in question.
In the opinion of the Environmental Ombudsoffice, the expected impact on nature bears no sustainable relation to the benefits of developing the road and, in our opinion, such aspects should also be included in the state’s road funding policy, as such projects would then be self-evident due to the immense costs involved.
Status of the proceedings: In a ruling by the Provincial Administrative Court on 30 October 2024, the appeal by the Tyrolean Environmental Ombudsman was upheld and the contested decision was amended to the effect that the application for a nature conservation permit was rejected.
