EU-Nature Restoration Law – joint statement of the Austrian Environmental Ombudsoffices

Biodiversity conservation is inextricably linked to climate protection. Unfortunately, it is currently politically opportune to play these two essential objectives off against each other.

If the EU Restoration Regulation is implemented accordingly, the Provincial Environmental Ombudsoffices see a unique opportunity to enable sustainable utilisation of our natural environment and at the same time to restore and protect habitats worthy of protection.
